Visualising a modern refresh for leading Swedish luxury bed brand Carpe Diem. Featured in luxury London department store Harrods and residing in Wigmore street, Carpe Diem is a luxurious and forward thinking brand with heritage and sophistication but was lacking the refinery online. JW set out to conceptualise an elegant, minimalist design style to compliment the luxurious products and lifestyle imagery.
Transforming the UI for Carpe Diem with a refined design style - reminiscent of Swedish minimalism. The current site was too clinical, lacking design prowess and prestige, so needed an injection design thinking to best showcase the positioning of the brand. With a wealth of superior lifestyle imagery, JW opted to accentuate the imagery against dark and luxurious background colours with the use of vignettes. Finally adding a switch in the navigation to enable dark mode and day mode to be toggled on/off.
The Carpe Diem website features a bed builder onsite, however it is not consistent with the rest of the website and lacks the sophistication of the branding. This provides the perfect opportunity to redesign using all the necessary image assets and fabric swatches, simplifying the bed builder structure and minimising excess functionality to improve usability as well as sophistication in the UI.
